qrcodeBy the development of the period, aspects of supporting life evolved. For example the aspects of technology has grown rapidly. Aims to save more time, human race always updating their technologies to makes all the job finished instantly. There is so many new invention of technology to make a better life.

We’ll focus on encryption system on storing information. “Barcode” on merchandise, store information about ID, name, and cost product. “Magnetic Stripe” or known as “MagnePrint” or “BluPrint” on Credit Card, store information about authentication of the owner. And so many other encryption system. Its the outcome from technology development in order to make efficient transaction system.

For “Barcode”, its evolve to another dimension. The old “Barcode” is one-dimensional image, and the new “Barcode” is using two-dimension image and it’s called “QR Code”.

What is QR Code?
A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The “QR” is derived from “Quick Response”, as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. QR Codes are common in Japan, where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional codes. Moreover, most current Japanese mobile phones can read this code with their camera.

How to read it?
To read the code, you’ll need a camera and internet equipped cellphone that has installed QR Code Reader software. For Nokia serie N & E, this application is pre-installed and ready to use. Others can download the application from many site which share the software. For example, go to http://reader.kaywa.com/getit with your default phone browser. It’s automatically detect your phone type then start the download a compatible software QR code reader. After installed, run the application then activate the camera and capture the code image. You’ll see the information that stored in that code.

In Indonesia, this code is still unpopular. But one of daily newspaper, “KOMPAS”, has use QR Code in their newspaper headline in order to make more interaction between the newspaper and the audiences (red: readers).
